We especially enjoyed the art throughout; we literally were stopping in stairwells to look at each piece. Additionally, our favorite activity on the ship was the VR venue adjacent to the SeaPlex, which had us laughing uproariously at ourselves by the end; it's a don't-miss. Want to catch some on-screen action and root for the home team? Head upstairs to SeaPlex’s second floor for a front-row seat at the ultimate Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade.

We were warned about the high winds we were going to have en route to Aruba, and they were right. I felt the ship sway more than I have on other ships, but it was never bad enough that I needed to take motion sickness medication.

I have stayed at this hotel many times (as well as the connecting hotel, AC Hotel Fort Lauderdale Airport), and I couldn't recommend it enough. The location is perfect because you are near the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Port Everglades. The hotel is also near the Dania Pointe shopping center and is a great place to grab dinner the night before your cruise. One thing that's all new on Odyssey of the Seas (at least for a North American crowd) is its marquee entertainment. And they're all elaborate productions that are keeping with Royal Caribbean's reputation for some of the best shows at sea.

For instance, the Royal Esplanade is a bit smaller than we’re used to seeing and felt tighter. Between packing so much on the top of the ship, including casitas, deck chairs, loungers, and more, it just didn’t feel as open. SeaPlex Blending of Space for FamiliesThe SeaPlex at the back of the ship is definitely built for kids, but parents were also considered in the design and it shows. While kids will want to hang out in this area and the rest of the back deck where the climbing wall and Sky Pad are located, there are plenty of spaces for adults to enjoy.
Whether it’s after dinner or after party, nighttime sizzles at Boleros, a Latin-themed club and hot spot serving Cuban mojitos, Brazilian capirinhas, or your favorite classic cocktails. Behind the Scenes of the Entertainment on Odyssey of the Seas
The ship's engines produce 67,2 MW (total power output) plus 41 MW propulsion power. On February 1, 2019, was held the steel-cutting ceremony, with which officially started vessel's construction at the Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenburg Germany. Vessel's keel-laying ceremony (May 3, 2019) was attended by RCI representatives.
Find the warm and bubbly whirlpool that’s calling your name. And our award-winning Adventure Ocean® Youth Program is designed with that in mind. Tiny travelers ages 3-5 will have an education blast in the Aquanauts group. The Explorers program keeps 6-8 year olds entertained with activities like themed parties and more. And learning is a thrillfest for 9-11 year olds in the Voyagers group. At the end of our cruise, we were in no rush to get off because our flight home wasn’t until the next day.
Your best bet to keep track of what is offered and when is to read the daily Cruise Compass. Think of the Cruise Compass as a TV Guide for everything planned that day, including hours for all the activities, dining, shows, and live performances. If you’re looking for some rest and relaxation then Odyssey of the Seas has plenty to offer here too. There is also a casino, several restaurants and bars, and a theater that hosts Broadway-style shows. Its innovative method in designing spaces -- especially the wow-inducing Two70 venue -- feels new and contemporary. The ship's unflinching approach to exposing its guests to exciting concepts is a breath of fresh air; we're sure passengers will leave having seen and done things they haven't anywhere else.
During our eight-day cruise, we had three ports of call and five sea days. They were nicely spaced out, with Perfect Day at CocoCay being on our second day, then two sea days, our two stops in the Southern Caribbean, and then two sea days back to Fort Lauderdale. I was able to order a custom omelet, something I didn’t know they offered, so I was happy! This venue was open for breakfast and dinner every day of our cruise and for lunch on sea days.
Mom and I had a leisurely breakfast in the Windjammer at 8 a.m. Since it was so crowded, I decided to swing by Café@Two70 afterward to grab an egg burrito and coffee before disembarking. Café@Two70 wasn’t nearly as busy, so I would recommend eating here on embarkation and disembarkation day. The next day, we took a Lyft from our hotel to Port Everglades. Spectrum of the Seas is also a part of this class, launching in 2019. Both of these Quantum Ultra ships are slightly bigger than the ships in the Quantum Class.
In comparison to other RCI ships, Odyssey OTS has its name positioned way lower on the light-blue colored hull (O letter's bottom even goes below the waterline). In early-March 2021, RCI rescheduled Odyssey's inaugural season to start in June, but open for residents of Israel only. The revised itinerary program offered 3- to 7-night roundtrips from Haifa-Tel Aviv Israel (homeport/first-time for RCI). The Eastern Mediterranean/Aegean itineraries were planned to visit only Greek islands/ports - Rhodes, Mykonos, Santorini, Piraeus-Athens, Limassol Cyprus. Due to "unrest in Israel and the region" (Israel's airstrikes on Gaza), this Cyprus and Greece program was officially canceled on May 15.
